RECREATION RECEPTIONIST/SECRETARY I /SITE SUPERVISOR (Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly)
The recreation department is seeking the immediate filling of the position. This is a Part-Time, Non-exempt (Hourly) position, up to 15 hours per week. The Salary Range is class 2, $12.77-$20.35 per hour. Incumbents are typically hired at the minimum.
This position is responsible for performing a variety of clerical, secretarial, transcription, and administrative duties to help support the functions of the recreation department, its supervisors, and other staff members. Provides customer service to the general public and others; answers incoming phone calls; provides assistance to the public and others; coordinates various office functions and services; processes data; prepares documents and reports. The position will be required to supervise a community room rental at least one day of the week/weekend and may be assigned to score keep or site supervisor programs at a park or gym.
Applicants: Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent; AND one (1) year of related experience in secretarial/clerical support work; completion of a post-high school training program in secretarial sciences, office management, or closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Google.
The incumbent will be trained on how to use other software programs. Must be able to type 45 wpm. Must possess a valid State of Utah driver's License. Must pass a pre-employment drug test following a conditional offer of employment. Must be able to pass the FEMA Emergency Management NIMS IS-100.C and IS-700.B courses within 2 months of hire. The recreation department is seeking to hire Site Supervisors for our upcoming recreation programs. This is a Part-Time, Non-exempt (Hourly) position, up to 15 hours per week. The Salary Range is $15.00-$16.00 per hour. Incumbents are typically hired at the minimum.
This position is responsible for performing a variety of routine technical and field supervisory duties as needed to oversee the success of scheduled special events, classes, and recreation programs including games and tournaments for youth and adults. This position is also responsible for customer service to the general public and participants of the programs; setting up equipment; ensuring the safety and security of recreation participants, spectators, coaches, and facilities; serving as the official departmental representative at events, games, and programs; mediating disputes between players, spectators and officials; ejecting players, spectators or coaches from programs and facilities for sportsmanship, behavior and language issues; provide immediate supervision to seasonal, temporary or volunteer personnel; assist in the field and/or court preparation and maintenance as necessary; render First-Aid, AED and CPR to injured participants, spectators or personnel; and prepare incident reports and other written documents as needed.
Applicants: Must be at least 18 years of age or older. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and concussion certification course; and have a basic understanding, knowledge, and experience of the following sports: soccer, baseball, softball, kickball, basketball, and football. Must be able to obtain a certification in First-Aid, AED, and CPR within one (1) month of hire.
